Ultima 6 Box Art Templates

Another set of photographs found in the Mythic Archives; these were also — like the cloth map template photographs — taken by Chris Reid of the Wing Commander CIC.

This more intact collection features the layout templates for the Ultima 6 box art. The individual images depict the layouts of the front and back covers of the box (including notes about e.g. flipping some of the images around), and we also get a look at how Origin Systems went about selecting screenshots for the cover.

And again, if you followed the Advent Calendar that graced the front page of the Ultima Codex in the run up to Christmas in 2014, one of these images will seem quite familiar to you.

This too is an interesting glimpse of the effort that was put into creating an important part of the experience of Ultima 6, and it’s good that it was preserved for us to look back upon today.
